write WRITE write…

When in doubt write

Can’t be said enough, writers! I love this post by the ever creative, Coco Ginger. This is my new Writers’ Manifesto:

write WRITE write….

I’m as serious as I can be when I say this–and I say this from my years of writing famine–stop the excuses and stop waiting for inspiration. Sit down to write and write! Inspiration will come. There is magic in your fingers.

  1. Yes, love what you said. Can’t tell you how many times I sat there with nothing to write just waiting. Put the pen to the paper and it starts out horrible and meaningless, then will turn to magic before you even know it. šŸ™‚

Thanks for the comment. Yes! And there’s also the all the excuses to avoid sitting down in the first place because you’re too scared there will be nothing. But our brains and our hearts have a way of saying, “Good, I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time; I have something to say!” (That holds true for what I’m writing now!) And then, you write. I’ve spent too many years waiting and waiting and waiting for the “right time.” Now is the WRITE time. Thanks again for allowing me to share your wisdom. You inspire so many…

  3. It’s so true, once I had my outline, I started and more stories came into my head that I had completely forgotten until I started writing! Bravo šŸ™‚

Yes, I think there is something even about the movement that gets our imagination flowing and our memories stirring. (In my current book, the main character remembers key moments he had forgotten by moving and thinking.) There is some science to it…so I’ve heard. šŸ™‚ Thanks for the comment!
